Located in the heart of California’s beautiful Sierra Foothills are Amador County’s 40 plus wineries. For a more affordable experience and tasting with the same quality of wines, I would highly recommend taking a visit.
Every year, Amador County hosts an event called Big Crush Harvest Wine Festival where you can enjoy a weekend of wine tasting, live entertainment, music, tasty food pairings, and grape stomping!! It is the best bang for your buck I promise you! Since 2017 my family and I attend the event in celebration of my mom’s birthday and has become a tradition we look forward to each year. The ambiance is so awesome and a great weekend of making memories all while enjoying a glass of wine ( or two, or three, or its okay to lose count too;))
Over the past several years of visiting all wineries, I have narrowed it down to my 8 top favorites.
This is such a nice Modern- Contemporary winery that opened in 2010 where we had a great time tasting wine, playing cornhole and bocce ball. I really enjoyed their Primitivo and Cuvee Blanc.
I love this winery! From the Mexican/Ranch style winery and varied wine options to their personal tequila collection on display in their tasting room. This winery felt very welcoming and homey and the wines are exquisite! Their ECKS Rose is like no other! Made from 100 % Zinfandel grapes the fresh sweet taste makes it the perfect summer wine that will leave you wanting more!
Ok, this winery is pure awesomeness and every year this is on our list of must-visit! With gorgeous views, exquisite wines, a beautiful outdoor pavilion with a wine cave you can tour as an additional experience. During the summertime pre-COVID19, they host live music summer concerts in the pavilion, how cool is that ?!?! You will leave this place wondering when your next visit will be.
This winery felt very welcoming, personable, and relaxing not to mention one of the best views in Shenandoah Valley! I love that as soon as you enter you are greeted by friendly staff and struck with the stunning views of the valley, the glass windows are everything with a location like this. Pure amazingness! Something about beautiful landscape views can bring such peace and calmness.
We love the wine here especially their blended wines! Two of the many favorites would have to be their Barbera and Petit Verdot, magnifico! Really great quality wines here and you literally cannot go wrong with any that you choose, from their Zins to the blended wines they are all divine. We always leave here buying a case worth it cause they are that good and make a great wine choice for a gift 😉
This winery is located right across the street from Jeff Runquist Wines and we are definitely glad to have checked this place out. I absolutely love me some Zen and Zin-fandels and this winery had one of the best Zinfandel wines! They also have another location in Paso Robles, CA which I now have on my go-to winery destinations to visit!
